Buffalo Moon Rising

The buffalo has always been the centerpiece of the Great Plains evoking images of a beautiful and untamed frontier. The great Sioux nation that covered North and South Dakota deeply depended on the "Great Tatanka" for food, clothing and shelter thus following the migrating buffalo herds. Tragically the buffalo was pushed close to the edge of extinction by the hands of reckless white poachers. Against all odds it survived, thus reviving the quenched spirit of the American Indian. Today the image of a majestic lone buffalo bull roaming the Badlands symbolizes a tragedy survived and the tenacious spirit of a proud people and their enduring culture.
